Meet Arlene
Hi, my name is Arlene Mortley and I am the founder of Arlene Antoinette Skincare. I am a licensed aesthetician, who holds a Certificate in Medical Esthetics as well as a Nail Technician’s license. I am Oncology Trained, a certification earned through Oncology Esthetics™ facilitated by Touch for Cancer, which enables me to provide safe personalized spa treatments to individuals with or recovering from cancer. I treat all skin types and conditions, but early on in training, I noticed the lack of focus on my skin color, especially when it came to chemical peels and other types of resurfacing treatments. I set out to educate myself and become knowledgeable in addressing the needs of Afro-Caribbean and African American skin. Today, I remain dedicated to finding answers to the common problems that affect pigmented skin.
I was born and raised in St. Andrew, Jamaica. The women I was surrounded by respected their health and prioritized looking and feeling great. Though we lived a humble lifestyle, certain things were never sacrificed. Now, as a professional aesthetician residing in New York, I am rooted in and draw inspiration from my Jamaican upbringing, while also taking notes from the constant movement and growth of this remarkable city.
I am a graduate of the Christine Valmy International School where I received my diploma in Aesthetics and Advanced Certificate in Makeup Application. I am trained and certified in Skin Biology, Advanced Chemical Peels, and most anti-aging modalities and technologies. Each year I attend several medical conferences, industry trade shows, and continuing educational courses to ensure that as new techniques and technologies emerge I will remain at the forefront.
I am a member of the Association of Skincare Professionals and the International Association of Oncology aestheticians. I am also an active volunteer for the Look Good Feel Better Program since 2012. The program is a non-medical public service that teaches beauty and skincare techniques to cancer patients, helping them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment while improving self-esteem and quality of life, and creating an environment of support and community.
I have the knowledge, training, and passion to help my clients look and feel their absolute best inside and out.
